I found this wonderful neo-classical chamber music from Taiwan in the collection of "Manuela", besides other quite interesting albums. The artist site on Bandcamp doesn't disclose much detail about the musicians constituting "Cicada", but a little internet research reveals that this string trio plus piano and guitar, which dedicates its works to the praise and protection of the beauty of mother nature, is led by pianist and main composer Jesy Chiang, who does a terrific job. This pefectly arranged, classically inspired music is enthralling from the first note to the last - there's not a single weak track. Simply magnificent! Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
I remember exactly what I was doing the first time I heard this album. Hiking in the Mist is one of those albums that really reminds me of why music is so important and why it's such a big part of my life. Every song is impactful and beautiful. Easily in my top 10 albums. The Serial Listener
You can trust in pianist and composer Jesy Chiang that every single one of her "Cicada" albums is a masterpiece in its own way. Her chamber music pieces are as beautiful as the impressions of the perfection of nature they describe. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
