This innovative CD represents a dialogue between pianist Fábio Caramuru’s music and the sounds of several animals from the Brazilian fauna. These “two songs” are carefully intertwined in each one of the tracks, which results in unique, extremely balanced and delicate performances, paying a tribute to the Brazilian nature.

この革新的なピアノ作品はブラジル・サンパウロ出身のアーティストFabio Caramuruのピアノと同国の動物たちとの間の対話を表します。動物達の声とピアノという"二つの歌"はブラジルの自然に大きなリスペクトを込めて、個性的で非常にバランスの取れた繊細な演奏とミックスにより、一つの楽曲へと昇華されています。カンピーナス州立大学内に設立された世界最大のサウンドライブラリーの一つとして知られるFNJVより、サビアやスズドリといった野鳥のさえずりやカエル、コオロギなど様々な虫達の鳴き声をカバーし、Fabio Caramuruはレコーディングの前の１ヶ月間をブラジルの生態系のリサーチと楽曲の構造の時間にあて、ヘッドフォンで録音された動物達の歌を聞きながら即興的な録音をしています。対位法から無調、ブルースのコード進行、モーダルなメロディーと、ピアニストの無限に広がるような音楽的引き出しの豊富さを感じさせるも、コンテンポラリーに偏ることなく、動物達と無邪気に戯れているかのように生き生きと展開しています。水辺に透き通る光、風にざわめく木々。霊妙なピアノの調べと動物達の歌声の対話が大自然へのイマジネーションを喚起する楽園ピアノ・アンビエントの一大絵巻です。

I came to this album (and label) via acloserlisten.com, and picked up the CD--great packaging!--through Stashed Goods. One of my favourite albums of 2016 that can be played at any time: it has such a nice relaxing feel to it that kind of washes over you as you listen. In places (e.g. "Before") it reminds me a bit of Ludovico Einaudi. Great stuff! Gordon
